Alissa M. Howell founded Integral Software Systems in 1989. With extensive education in the area of Mathematics, Computer Science and Software Engineering from the University of Arizona and Seattle University, and a decade of software design and development experience in the 1980’s in the Automotive, Space and Aerospace industries. Nationally published, Alissa has gained recognition as an industry leader in the areas of Structured Software Design methodologies and Database design. Alissa presents a rare and refreshing view of software development that stresses the importance of requirements development, software architecture, software design, software coding and ultimately as needed, software validation. Though this process might appear daunting and time consuming, the opposite is true, and has been demonstrated on many of Integral’s contracts. Often Alissa has provided software development with a time commitment and cost that is well below the customer’s initial estimates and expectations. This is a trademark of Integral Software Systems and Alissa.

Gary L. Howell co-founded Integral Software Systems with Alissa. Gary's early start in the engineering industry at 16 years of age, education in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arizona, and extensive engineering analysis for over 30 years in the Space, Automotive, Aerospace and Medical Device industries has afforded him unusual ability. Gary’s expertise has landed him in contracts including the analysis of nuclear threats in the defense industry, and the analysis of high technology space platforms including but not limited to a Strategic Defense Initiative Infrared Telescope Test Program, a Kinetic Energy Weapon System proposal, development of Missile Systems, Launch Platforms and Missile Basing Systems. Gary's trademark throughout his career has been innovation. He continues this tradition today with out of the box solutions that integrate a variety of complex analysis tasks to manage safety risks of medical devices in a manner that streamlines the effort, assures consistency, and promotes the best design changes of the systems he is analyzing.
